About Me

“No one ever made a decision because of a number — they need a story.”

— Daniel Kahneman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences

My professional story began in the world of university branding and communications, leveraging assets of the most valuable brand in college sports to tell the story of how What Starts Here Changes the World ™.

Through that experience, I became interested in how compelling storytelling can strengthen relationships between organizations and communities they serve by making complex ideas accessible to wider audiences. That interest has fueled my communications career from higher education to professional, financial, and commercial real estate services.

Now, I have eight years of experience integrating media relations, executive messaging, and content strategy to position global brands in competitive markets, with proven success driving media narratives to amplify brand stories across diverse industries.

I’m an analytically minded messaging strategist, with media relationships that deliver results, including placements in Tier 1 outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. I have shaped strategic conversations through a range of business, trade, and general news media. And, I understand how strategic communications can impact an organization’s ability to fulfill its missions in times of crisis, controversy, and rapid change. (Are there any other kinds of times in the history of humanity?)

In the next phase of my career, I’m looking for opportunities to expand the impact of my work and discover new ways to tell stories that move people to action and advocacy…

…because emerging technologies like AI will only increase the value of creative communications as routine tasks get automated and economies evolve…

…because numbers and facts never actually speak for themselves – they need context and framing and people to explain why anyone should care…

…because narratives drive human behavior – and markets (even in The Matrix).

Outside my career, I enjoy running and hiking Austin’s trails, volunteering with The Junior League of Austin, and fantasizing about the Texas Longhorns being good at football again. #hookem
